For transactional engagements, the scope and cost are agreed at the outset, either on a fixed-fee basis or with a capped time-cost arrangement. There are no open-ended hourly retainers that accumulate without prior agreement.

For succession matters: existing wills or hibah deeds if any, a list of assets and their approximate values, and the names and relationships of intended beneficiaries.
